Housing and Community Living
Having a safe, accessible, and stable place to live is critical for a person’s health and wellbeing. Unfortunately, the housing crisis in this nation is even worse for people with autism and other developmental disabilities. Policy and practice need to focus on identifying appropriate and accessible housing units, increasing support for renting or owning a place to live, and improving the availability of home-and community-based supports that people often depend upon to support them in living more independently.
