Transition to Adulthood

Untitled Design (12)

Over the next decade, about 1,173,000 youth and young adults in the U.S. will be expected to move from a system that was designed to support children and their care partners, to one that serves adults. They will face complexities as they navigate many different service systems to find support for employment, education, living arrangements, healthcare, and social relationships. Policies should focus on bridging service gaps, improving usability and coordination of the service system, and ensuring the unique transition needs and experiences of autistic people and their families are met.
