Equity and Social Justice
While autism acceptance has grown over the last few decades, the perspectives and needs of autistic racial, gender, and sexual minorities have not been prioritized. This has led to persistent inequities and barriers that impact all areas of life, from getting an initial diagnosis to accessing needed services. To promote equity and social justice, policies that center autistic Black and Brown people, autistic girls and women, and autistic LGBTQ people, must be enacted.
